摘要：

An apterous species of Lucanidae, Microlucanus greensladeae n. gen. n. sp. from Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands) is described. The taxonomic position of the new taxon is briefly discussed. The elytral apex of the males shows a peculiar shiny area; such a secondary sexual character was previously unknown in this family of Coleoptera. Also given is a check list of all the known Lucanidae species of Bougainville and Solomon Islands.
