摘要
Solvothermal method is used to synthesize SnTe materials for thermal applications. Formation of nanoparticles is confirmed from XRD data analysis. Presence of nano-particles decrease lattice thermal conductivity through increased phonon scattering, so the 'figure of merit' is enhanced. Cobalt doping in SnTe further decreased lattice thermal conductivity by introducing distortion in crystal structure. Distortion in crystal structure happened due to increase in lattice strain, stacking faults and dislocation density and, decrease in crystallite size. Therefore, Co is an efficient dopant to enhance the 'figure of merit' of SnTe for thermoelectric applications. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
