摘要
The pulse coherence property of actively mode-locked, inhomogeneously broadened lasers is studied using the space-time analogy in optics. A dispersion-limited, basic lockable pulse bandwidth is given, and the analytical formulation determines the pulse coherence quality based on the degree of excitation of Hermite-Gaussian pulses. Theoretical calculations are in good agreement with experimental observations. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
