摘要:
Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading cause of death in patients with chronic kidney disease. Some blood tests in daily routine may be important to reveal this cause. We aimed to evaluate mean platelet volume (MPV) and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) out of haemogram as a cardiovascular risk factor in patients with stage 3-4-5 chronic kidney disease (CKD). Materials and methods: 121 patients were included in this retrospective study, who had coronary angiography between January-2015 and December-2016. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) levels of the patients were calculated. Then, patients divided into groups according to the presence of severe coronary lesions and GFR stages (as stage 3-4-5). At the end haemogram parameters were compared among groups. Results: Patient numbers in the groups of stage 3,4, and 5 of CKD; found as 86, 19, and 16 respectively. Angiographic presence of severe lesions found lower in the group stage-4. Mean 'MPV count' and mean 'MPV/Platelet count ratio' found significantly higher in the group who have severe coronary lesions. No significant difference found in mean MPV count among the groups according to GFR levels. There was no difference in NLR levels among the groups according to presence of severe coronary lesions. NLR levels found significantly lower in the stage-3 group than the stage-4 and there was no significant difference in comparison among the other groups. Conclusion: For the chronic kidney disease patients who have underlying severe coronary artery disease, among the haemogram parameters, significant increase found in MPV and MPV/Platelet count; but no significant increase found in the NLR levels. This could be important as a predictive value for the community but there is necessity of more extensive researches.
