摘要
The loading state acted oil diamond grits in practical tools was simulated with toughness index measurement apparatus. After impacting, diamond grits are further divided into three categories: un-broken diamond, micro-fractured diamond and completely fractured one. The correlation between the fractures of impacted diamonds and the wear stages of grits in diamond tool is established. The measurement of the ratio of un-broken diamond and micro-fractured one can be used to evaluate the fitness for use of diamond grits. Test results show that only when the ratio of the above two diamonds is close to 1:1, the optimum cutting efficiency and self-sharpness of diamond can be achieved.
