摘要
Solenoids and similar applications require very restrictive limits on magnetic properties (coercive field, magnetization curve, permeability, ...) of materials used to produce components. These strict requirements are not satisfied by ferritic stainless steels in standard annealed condition. The paper describes the complex optimization process of a not-dedicated steel,trade by means of fine tuning of heat treatment and cold finishing (cold drawing and grinding) parameters. In particular magnetic properties of different conditions are correlated to process parameters, microstructural features and residual stresses measured by XRD.
