摘要
Root lectins isolated from wheat seedlings (Triticum aestivum cultivars Saratovskaya 29 and Mironovskaya 808) were not different from wheat germ agglutinins by molecular weight, carbohydrate specificity, and the number of isoforms; however, there were cultivar-related differences in isolectin ratios. Wheat lectin interacts with associative bacteria of the genus Azospirillum in a strain-specific mode. Inoculation of Saratovskaya 29 wheat seedlings with various strains of Azospirillum altered the specific lectin activity and the length and weight of the plant roots. The data indicate that wheat root lectins are involved in the plant interaction with the associative bacteria of the genus Azospirillum.
