摘要
A new design concept of a nonpolarizing beam splitter, which is based on a subwavelength grating and an Ag slab, has been proposed. The subwavelength grating is used to eliminate the polarization effect, and the Ag slab is used to control the value of reflectance. The design is based on thin-film theory and effective-medium theory, and it is optimized with rigorous coupled-wave analysis. The simulation shows that the structure can not only eliminate polarization effect, but also provide different reflectance with various Ag-layer thicknesses.
