摘要
Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is the primary factor that limits the output power in narrow-linewidth high power fiber amplifiers. We propose and demonstrate a novel method for the suppression of SBS in optical fibers using a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) for the first time. An obvious decrease in backward Stokes power and increase in threshold could be observed with TFBG insert. Experiment results demonstrated that a more satisfying suppression could be achieved with improved TFBG, which provides a good reference for the future power scaling of high power narrow bandwidth all-fiber amplifiers.
