Safety, efficacy and lessons from continuous infusion with rFVIIa

Continuous infusion with coagulation factor concentrates has only been widely adapted during the last decade and with recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) only during the last 2 years. Still the accumulated number of days on continuous infusion with this product amounts by now to more than one year, 35 patients and 26 surgical procedures. The experience is reviewed here and compared with data from the conventional bolus dose regimen.
