Open net of civil engineering education in Russia

The idea of the "Open Net" originated in the course of the MSUCE preparation for to the competition of the universities, which are implementing innovative educational programmes. The creators of the MSUCE application form proceeded from the assumption that the establishments of higher professional education known as the Association of Civil Engineering Universities (ACEU) should be considered as partners in the process of implementation of the "Education" National Project. The "Open Net" successfully unites the innovative potential of MSUCE and other ACEU universities. The competitive teams of authors are working out the education & methodology documents for the disciplines which are aimed at forming professional competence in construction engineering. In their work they use two-level system of personnel training. The "Open Net" has been created to transfer knowledge possessed by the MSUCE as a core profession centre to its regional partners - the universities, which are the regional profession training centres, and then to the construction companies to increase the quality of higher education as well as the qualification of the specialists in the field. The potentialities of the "Open Net" make it possible to perform an interactive education process and to give the students the opportunity to contact highly-qualified university teachers. The "Open Net" is one of the 17 local projects from the MSUCE innovative education programme; these local projects form an integral system with a common aim and a common logic. The "Open Net" may serve for the distribution of innovative knowledge obtained in the process of implementation of other projects. A sustainable development of the "Open Net" after the financing period will guarantee a systematic switch-over to new teaching technologies, the distribution of the results of the innovative education program to regional civil engineering universities as well as the creation of an integral information space for the education and the science in the field of civil engineering.
