Influence, of Mn substitution on magnetic behavior of La(Fe1-xMnx)2Si2 alloys

摘要
A series of isostructural La(Fe1-xMnx)(2)Si-2 pseudoternaries has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and microprobe analysis. While the Mn-rich compounds behave like the pure LaMn2Si2 with both T-N and T-C systematically shifted to lower temperatures, the Mn-poor compounds show a steep tail on the low-temperature dependence of the specific heat with a maximum slope for x = 0.025. An influence-of Mn substitution on the ground state of La(Fe1-xMnx)(2)Si-2 solid Solutions will be discussed in comparison with the results of electronic structure calculations.
