In this paper, the shielding of an enclosure with contents is described with particular emphasis on the frequency range of above I GHz. A statistical approach is taken to account for the complex nature of shielding at these higher frequencies. A measurement set-up is described as used in an anechoic chamber. Numerical simulations based on the transmission-line matrix (TLM) modeling method are also performed in order to complement the experiment work The work is undertaken to inform the new work on IEEEE Std 299. It should be stressed that the work is not finalized and that the purpose of this paper is to report on progress and elicit comment.
