Effect of clay mineralogy on coefficient of consolidation

摘要
The Cv-p trends obtained in the laboratory for the clay minerals kaolinite, illite and monomotrillonite and powdered quartz with water and CCl4 as pore fluids were evaluated relative to the mechanical and physicochemical factors known to influence the compressibility behavior of clays. The results indicate that in the case of clay minerals, the coefficient of consolidation is not constant but varies with consolidation pressure.
