Reactions of electron-poor alpha-haloketones with (N-isocyanimino) triphenylphosphorane in the presence of aromatic carboxylic acids proceed smoothly at room temperature and in neutral conditions to afford disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives in high yields.
