Synthesis of some new 2-substituted-4-sulfamoylphenylazo-thiophene and/or thiazole derivatives as antibacterial agents

摘要
Benzaylacetone has been reacted with phenyl Isothaacyanate to afford two difFerent thiocarbarnoyl derive tines (alpha-phenylthiocarbamoyl benzoy acetone arid benzo3d thioacetanilide) depending upon the bas used to perforrri the reaction. Several new 2-substituted-4-sulfamoylpheriylazo-thiapherie and/or thiazole derivatives were synthesized by heterocyclization of the thiocarbarnoyl derivatives with various halogenated reagents. The synthesized compounds were screened fortheir antibacterial activities; they showed accepted activities with respect to the control drugs.
