Probability problem solving with didactical intention when preparing mathematics teachers

In this piece of work we reflect on the role of probability problem solving in preparing mathematics teachers. We introduce the notion of problem solving with didactical intention and we show it in a way to solve probability problems that we call "by simulation". This way of solving problems is introduced as a solving method with heuristic potential; its knowledge is considered as necessary in preparing mathematics teachers in order to control the process of solving probability problems at schools in a competent way.
