摘要
Complexes of cobalt and copper with phthalic acid have been studied and found to exist in an octahedral environment. The thermal stability of the complexes was studied by thermogravimetry. The performance of the complexes as colouring materials and stabilizing agents for poly(vinyl chloride) and polyethylene has been studied using various tests Such as weather resistance, lightfastness, heat stability, resistance to acid and alkali and dispersibility. The complex formed between copper and phthalic acid showed promising properties as a colourant for the polymers.
