The high-temperature creep behaviour of an Fe-Al-Zr alloy strengthened by intermetallic precipitates

The creep behaviour of an Fe-Al-Zr alloy has been examined at 700 degrees C and compared with the behaviour of an Fe-Al-B alloy, as well as with previously reported creep data. The Zr-containing alloy is strengthened by the formation of Fe-Zr intermetallic precipitates during high-temperature exposure, which makes this alloy about as strong under such creep conditions as any iron alummide previously examined.
