摘要：

Based on logical and empirical arguments, the article presents a critical discussion of the world order in the post-Cold War period. It also analyzes different interpretations of the end of the Cold War and outlines the major streams of academic debate among today's internationalists. It concludes by identifying some analytical shortcomings to be found in international relation studies on the world transformations now in progress.
