Field-induced reentrant electronic phase transitions in graphite

摘要
We have investigated the magnetoresistance of graphite in fields of up to similar to 55 T over the temperature range 1-10 K and obtained a clear indication of a reentrant transition to the normal state. The reentrant transition is attributed to the Landau subband crossing the Fermi level. We use our experimental data to delineate the phase boundary between the ordered state and the normal state. The experimental results also suggest the existence of multiple phases inside the ordered state. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
