摘要：

A convenient preparation for an air-stable carbene transfer reagent is described. Ihe experiment uses equipment typically available in a standard wet chemistry kit found in most undergraduate laboratories. The students can identify the products using the standard spectroscopic technique of NMR spectroscopy and by melting point determinations. This experiment provides an experimental entry point into the study of carbene and carbene transfer agents. © Division of Chemical Education.
