This study deals with the development of an efficient pressure-based algorithm to solve the compressible Navier-Stokes equations at low Mach number including the limiting case of fully incompressible computations. The algorithm is based on two-scale splitting of the pressure into the volume-averaged and dynamic parts and uses the full Navier-Stokes equations (without any reductions) in order to study flows at all speeds. Predictions of a test problem (free convection of air in a cavity) as well as some applied problems of practical interest have been conducted on the basis of the developed method.
