摘要
XML is currently the preferred technology in many web applications because of its ability to encode inforination that is easy to read, process, and generate. The power of XML is in its portability and ability to represent data of different formats seamlessly. Information coded in XML is easy to process. XML can be used to represent data, exchange data, and share data. Since XML data is stored in plain text format, XML provides a software and hardware independent way of sharing data. This makes it much easier to create data that different applications can work with. Java is an ideal companion to XML. Java and XML are a natural match for the creation of Internet applications that exploit the web of information where different classes of clients consume and generate information that is exchanged between different servers that run on varied system platforms. In this research, we have developed a web application to demonstrate the use of Java and XML. All the information within the web server is rendered in XML. The application validated the great XML meteor hit, that the XML web site can be set up much quickly as compare with the sites created using other sophisticated distributed computing techniques by writing procedural code and distributed object computing techniques by writing object code.
