摘要
Because of the rapid development of the wireless communication, more and more telecommunication facilities are being installed. While, these facilities are frequently exposed to lightning strikes and easily destroyed by inrushing lightning surges. In order to design a reliable telecommunication system, the lightning-induced current distribution in telecommunication systems due to a direct lightning strike needs to be well investigated. Modelling such a complex systems is a necessary but tricky task. In order to achieve an accurate system simulation, both nonlinear and frequency-dependent characteristics of the components need to be considered. In this paper, a comprehensive procedure is presented to model the telecommunication system. Several aspects in the modelling are discussed. The surges in a telecommunication system with a 40 m tall steel tower is finally analyzed.
