摘要
This paper investigates the impact of product market competition on the level of corporate executive compensation in China. Using a sample of Chinese listed firms from the period 2003 to 2008, the empirical results of OLS regressions show that firms in more competitive industries pay a higher level of compensation to their top management than firms in less competitive industries after controlling corporate characteristic and governance characteristic.
