摘要
Serotonin (5HT) induces platelet aggregation through 5HT2A receptor activation. We investigated the relationship between 5HT2A receptor gene polymorphisms and platelet aggregation in 44 healthy volunteers. Small-sized platelet aggregates, induced by 5HT or ADP, were evaluated with a novel laser-light scattering method. T102C polymorphism and -1438A/G polymorphism of 5HT2A receptor gene is associated with 5HT-induced small-sized platelet aggregation, suggesting that these polymorphisms have functional significance.
