EDCS: An Enhanced Distributed Color Selection Algorithm for Anti-collision in RFID System

摘要
Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an automatic identification technology which need not manual intervention. The RFID system is consist of lots of readers and tags. It often uses multiple readers to meet the demands which are cover area and identify speed. And reader collision happens when identification range of two or more readers is overlapping. Distributed color selection (DCS) protocol have been proposed to reduce reader collisions by arrange readers identify tags in different slot. However, it does not take remaining readers of prior slot into consideration. This paper proposes enhanced distributed color selection (EDCS) algorithm to increase the contemporary readers to identify. We give a new chance to collided readers in prior time slot to compete and identify. We conduct extensive simulations and demonstrate the efficiency of our algorithm. The results show that our protocol can improve total activated reader number by about 10% in a frame. It is a great progress for the multi-readers environment.
