Application of self-organization principles to system control

摘要
Recently, Self-Organization has been introduced into Smart Production Systems as a new paradigm In this paper, we will analyze self-organization principles and distributed processing concepts and their applicability to Production Systems so as to gain more flexibility and reactivity. These concepts are strongly linked with autonomy and self-organized networks and they have been successfully implemented in flexible shops. We will briefly analyze results obtained for complex assemblies in Electronics. Even if some problems remain about the control of these concepts, these approaches are promising and would be of highest interest for software engineering and manufacturing engineering people.
