Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt (KKL) and S. Levy Incorporated (SLI) are developing a client-server software solution that supports utility engineers who work with nuclear plant design basis information. The overall plant design basis is captured in a relational data base that can be maintained in a controlled server environment. The client application is an intelligent user interface that helps engineers, managers and licensing specialists to identify and navigate through design basis information. One of the many uses of this software tool is to help utility staff to evaluate the impact of proposed changes to plant hardware and documentation.
