摘要
Modern days personal mobile communication systems needs larger data rate transmissions, that demands for antenna which gives bandwidth in few tens of GHz. In those applications printed variation of planar monopole antennas are preferred. In this paper, novel configuration of modified Elliptical shape planar monopole patch antenna for ultra-wide band response is proposed. By combining two elliptical shape patches, proposed configuration is realized. Combination of two elliptical shape geometries optimizes input impedance variations over wide frequency spectrum to give ultra-wide bandwidth. For VSWR less than 2, bandwidth from 1.5 GHz to above 10 GHz, showing radiation pattern directed in the bore-sight, with peak gain of around 2 dBi, is achieved.
