摘要
This paper presents the development of novel permanent magnet synchronous motors made of a soft magnetic composite (SMC) material. They have 3-D magnetic flux but also hollow stator teeth, which can give a reduction of copper losses and motor volume. It is clarified that the efficiency can be improved by using the SMC core instead of the conventional laminated core, and by introducing a hollowed out section for the winding, namely, an overhang at the tip of the teeth. In addition, the part of the core which has high iron loss is clarified by the 3-D finite element analysis.
