摘要
This paper presents a planar microstrip-fed monopole antenna for ultra wideband wireless communications applications. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is improved by modifying the circular patch in one side of the monopole, in addition to a partial ground plane is used. The proposed antenna has many features, such as, it has a small size of 30x30 mm(2), and it provides an ultra-wideband width from 2 to 28 GHz with low VSWR level and good radiation characteristics which satisfies the common requirements of the current wireless communications system applications. The designed antenna is verified by fabricating a prototype and measured it's performance. Good matching between EM simulation and measured results has been achieved.
