摘要：

Over the last years, significant progress has been made in the field of materials. The use of high-performance materials for structures in Germany is demonstrated by various examples of bridges. Concrete bridges, composite bridges and hybrid structures are discussed. The question is investigated whether it is necessary to develop new types of structure systems to satisfactorily utilize the potentials of the high-performance materials. Closely connected to this is the question for a suitable construction method to obtain an efficient and competitive solution.
