Effects of high pressure and low temperature on the phase stability of Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 ceramic powders

High-pressure low-temperature Raman measurements performed on Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 Powders have not only confirmed the existence of a series of phase transitions among the tetragonal, monoclinic and cubic phases, but also revealed the temperature dependence of the high-pressure induced transformation towards a disordered polar cubic phase. This work provides the first evidence for both the extended stability of the monoclinic phases at temperatures down to 10 K and pressures up to 10 GPa, and the high-pressure relaxor-like behavior of such a solid solution for pressures greater than 18 GPa.
