A Dynamic Mechanical Modulus Measurement System for Viscoelastic Materials Based on Resonant and Wave Propagation Techniques

2003, F. M. Guillot et al. proposed a dynamic Young's modulus measurement system at special temperature, frequency and pressure for viscoelastic materials based on resonant and wave propagation techniques. A measurement system is established for the validation of the resonant and wave propagation techniques. It is shown that, measurement data based on resonant technique quite agree with the DMA data and the method is validated. The useful signals are covered by the bending vibration of the sample when the wave propagation technique is used and much effort should be paid to eliminate the interference caused by the bending vibration for obtaining the validate results.
