Check-list of the Vesperidae and Cerambycidae of the French fauna (Coleoptera)

This annotated check-list of Vesperidae and Cerambycidae of the French fauna is based on various sources : a vast bibliographical study, the author's observations and verified observations of numerous amateurs. The numerous modifications show the necessity of revising the last reference (Villiers 1978). The faunistical outcome of the research allows us to draw up a list of 251 taxa representing 242 species currently present in continental France and Corsica. This list will be subject to constant modifications due to population fluctuations, to introductions and to the research activity of numerous amateurs. This systematic, taxonomic and faunistic synthesis is the first step towards an atlas of the Vesperidae and Cerambycidae of France and Corsica.
