Binuclear copper(II) complexes of Schiff base ligand derived from 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formylpyrazol-5-one and 1,3-diaminopropan-2-ol: Synthesis, structure and magnetic properties

摘要
Two novel binuclear heterobridged copper(II) Schiff base complexes of general formula [Cu2L(Pz)] (1) and [Cu-2-L(Az)(DMSO)]. DMSO (2) (where L = trianion of bis-azomethine derived from 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formylpyrazol-5-one and 1,3-diaminopropan-2-ol, Az = anion of 7-azaindole, Pz = pyrazolate anion) were synthesized and studied by IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility measurements show an antiferromagnetic coupling between two copper(II) ions in complex 1 (2J = -449) and ferromagnetic coupling in complex 2 (2J = 106 cm(-1)).
