Potential use of chlorophyll fluorescence in fruit breeding

摘要
Chlorophyll fluorescence (CF) was used as a non-destructive tool for screening spring frost resistance of early season strawberry cultivars and those apple selections that have a long shelf life. A positive correlation has been found between CF and the degree of frost damage in strawberry flowers. CF was also found to be a reliable technique to screen/segregate apple genotypes with longer shelf life.
