Phenomenological non-local nucleon-nucleon interactions and the neutron-deuteron elastic scattering

Phenomenological "inside non-local, outside Yukawa-tail" N-N interactions, which fit the N-N data and produce the correct triton binding energy, are tested for elastic n-d scattering observables in the energy range of E-n = 3.01-22.7MeV. The sensitivity of the different measurable quantities to the type and to the different components of the N-N interaction is investigated. Some of the possible modifications of the triplet P-wave interactions necessary to reproduce the neutron vector analyzing power are found. The new INOY S-1(0) and S-3(1)-D-3(1) interactions together with appropriate parametrizations of the higher partial waves seem to reproduce the experimental data better than the corresponding components of the Argonne upsilon(18) potential.
