摘要
NTT is conducting research and development of the ATM wireless access system to achieve the maximum information transmission rate of approximately 10 Mbit/s per user for portable terminals such as notebook PCs at any time and any place. This paper defines the overall requirements for the prototype with the fastest transmission rate in the world applied to the wireless access service and specifies the technical problems in development. It also explains solutions to the problems and describes the design and basic operation sequence of the developed prototype to show that the target performance was achieved.
