摘要
Ba1-xCaxAl2Si2O8 ceramics were prepared by solid state sintering. The crystal structure and microwave dielectric properties of BaO-Al2O3-SiO2 with different Ca contents were investigated. The results show that Ca can greatly promote the transformation from hexacelisian to celsian, in case of x >= 0.05 the transformation will reach 100%. The crystal unit-cell volume decreases with the increase of the content of Ca. The celsian is rod-like grain and the grain size decreases gradually when the amount of Ca increases. The dielectric constant and the bulk density have the similar trend. The Q x f value increase from 12,882 GHz at x = 0 to the maximum of 24,335 GHz at x = 0.05 then decreases with increasing the amount of Ca. The Ba0.9Ca0.05Al2Si2O8 sintered at 1425 degrees C showed a high Q x f of 24335 GHz, p = 3.161 g/cm(3,) epsilon(r) = 6.65 and tau(f) = 19.3 ppm/ degrees C at x = 0.05.
