摘要
As a complement to modelling of irradiation-induced non-equilibrium segregation, equilibrium grain boundary segregation of phosphorus in alpha-Fe is evaluated under neutron irradiation. Neutron irradiation creates excess point defects in alloys by production of Frenkel pairs, i.e., vacancies and interstitials. The interstitials include self-interstitials (formed by matrix atoms) and solute-interstitials (formed by solute atoms). Both excess vacancies and solute-interstitials may enhance solute diffusion so as to promote the kinetic process of equilibrium segregation. This effect is especially noticeable in the low temperature range.
