摘要：

A novel compact ultra-wideband (UWB) metal-plate monopole antenna for mobile-phone applications is presented. The antenna is easily fabricated from a single metal plate mid is suitable to be embedded within the casing of a mobile phone os on internal antenna. Further, the antenna shows a wide operating bandwidth of about 6 GHz (about 1.9-7.9 GHz). which makes it easily cover the UMTS band (1920-2170 MHz) for mobile communications and the 2.4-GHZ (2400-2484 MHz) and 5.2/5.8-GHz (5150-5350/5725-5875 MHz) bands for WLAN communications. That is, the antenna is suitable for application in a UMTS/WLAN dual-mode mobile phone. (c) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
