Bartonella vinsonii subsp berkhoffii endocarditis in a dog from Saskatchewan

摘要：
A dog referred for lameness was diagnosed with culture-negative endocarditis. Antibodies to Bartonella spp. were detected. Antibiotic treatment resulted in transient clinical improvement, but the dog developed cardiac failure and was euthanized. Bartonella vinsonii subsp. berkhoffi genotype IV was identified within the aortic heart valve lesions by PCR amplification and DNA sequencing.
