Corrosion protection of polypyrrole electrodeposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys in alkaline solutions

摘要
The polypyrrole is electrodeposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys in alkaline solutions. The morphology and compositions are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and auger electron spectroscopy (AES), respectively. Cauliflower- and rods-like structure is observed, and the ratio of C:N:O is varied at different locations. The polypyrrole coatings deposited on AZ91 magnesium alloys change the corrosion potential of its substrate. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
