摘要
MRSA is a causative agent of nosocomial infection. Detection of colonization of oropharynx, nasal vestibule and perineum by taking swabs at the admission to the intensive care unit has a great significance. Colonization is thus detected at the first defense barrier. This allows earlier patient isolation and application of procedures for MRSA eradication, thereby decreasing the frequency of MRSA infection in intensive care unit. Mortality rate caused by MRSA in postoperatively treated patients is also reduced.
