摘要
A new transanal local excision procedure with an E type anal retractor and a stapler (minimally invasive transanal surgery, MITAS) was performed in 43 patients for 44 rectal tumors, Twenty-seven tumors were early cancer including 17 in situ cancer, Thirty tumors were located above the peritoneal reflection including two sigmoid colon tumors. Mean maximum diameter of the tumors was 26 mm (range:5-83 mm). ?Twenty-seven tumors were sessile and 16 fiat. Mean operative time and blood loss were 24 minutes and 19 gr respectively. No mortality and morbidity were observed except one case of trasient bleeding postoperatively. MITAS was considered to be a minimally invasive local excision procedure for every rectal tumor which could be curatively treated by local excision.
