摘要
In this paper, Al-6061/Graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) composite are fabricated by bottom pouring stir casting. Non-uniform distribution of GNP in composite is observed in the casted samples. Challenges such as inadequate wettability, high porosity, and non-homogeneous distribution between molten Al matrix and solid GNPs reinforcement have been addressed. A suitable change in the stir casting design and process parameters are proposed to avoid or minimize the casting defects.
