Using benzothiophene-2-carboxylic acid as a raw material, 2-(1-benzothiophen-2-yl)-4H-1,3,4-oxadiazin-5(613)-one (4) was synthesized by esterification and hydrazinolysis, followed by the acylation and cyclization reactions. The novel compound 4 was characterized by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, ESI-MS, FT-IR, elemental analysis and X-ray single crystal diffraction.
